About the Tacky Museum

Welcome to the Tacky Museum, your virtual 24/7 online totally accessible non-politically correct museum dedicated to the celebration, display, and sale of classic Americana tacky items of intriguing yet sometimes sophisticated, complicating, perplexing, and often simple to boot.

We also offer free advice to those who are frequently challenged with life watershed moments:

  • Is this tacky?
  • If I do this, or that - would it be considered tacky?
  • Is this shirt I'm wearing tacky?
  • Should I re-gift this toaster at my bosses wedding?
  • Should I bring a congratulations card and remove the To / From tag on a random gift placed at the entry or reception for a wedding and replace it with my own to save money?
  • Should I take pennies from the tip cup when in need?
You see, life is full of complicated decisions. Who knows, perhaps you want to live a tacky lifestyle.

A bit about the Curator of The Tacky Museum
He studied Picking for 6 years at the St Micky's Knights of Columbus Jr. College on the north southeast side of the town of Forney, Texas. His graduate and doctoral work was completed at The University of East Texas Advanced College of American Picking, Salvage and Thrift Store Management.

He currently lives on the beautiful banks of the Trinity River in a motor home without a motor, and claims to sport the largest collection known to exist of used empty instant coffee containers. Dr. Nek Loop, CC & CAP also co-founded the advanced research center for the ongoing study of impulse buying at garage sales and stopping on the roadside to pick up curbside items, combined with binge watching his favorite reality TV Show: Hoarders and American Pickers. He is available for consultation each week between Tuesday 10:68 am and 11:00 am. Hourly rates are sometimes negotiable and bartering is commonly found to occur on Saturday mornings over coffee.

Also, Dr. Loop chairs an important committee named by our new President The committee to resolve all problems otherwise know for short as C.R.A.P. Thanks you for visiting our site.
